Image hosted by Photobucket.com How I spend my time

8.30 am: Woke up by my father. After using the bathroom, ate muffin as breakfast while reading the newspaper.

9.15 am: Start helping father paint the front gate, railing and grill.

12.30 pm: Lunch time. ^-^

1.00 pm: Resume work; paint up stair’s railing.

2.30 pm: GC guy came to repair the tv but decided to take the whole thing back to the factory. Looks like I need to borrow my nanny’s spare tv again. Haiz… pai se leh…

4.30 pm: Take a bath and start to prepare dinner.

6.00 pm: Mother came back from work. She got wet as it’s raining cats and dogs out there.

6.30 pm: Mother cook dinner while I fold the clothes. And of course sweep up stair’s floor.

7.15 pm: Have dinner. Hear my mother talk about her day working. It’s always fun to hear because everyday there will sure be something weird the way her colleagues work.

8.00 pm: Because of the hot weather, need to have another bath again.

8.30 pm: Finally have time to sit down and enjoy tv programme (Jewel in the Palace).

9.30 pm: Continue reading ‘wu xia xiao shuo’.

10 something: When to sleep. The first time since holiday started I go to bed so early.

Conclusion: A very tiring day.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Mosquitoes

Mosquitoes are also more active recently. Wah… they are so fierce. No matter how you chase them off, they will still come and suck your blood. I lost a few days’ sleep because of them. People getting dengue are increasing day by day. Only yesterday the authority came to spray the insecticide.

update: Just now about 8p.m., MPAJ send someone to spray the insecticide again. This time as my mother is at home, she purposely ask the guy to come into our compound to spray. My mother always wants us to open all the windows and doors to let the insecticide come into our house. Haha, i think tonight i will have sweet dreams. No more mosquitoes means no more sleepless night.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Hot Weather

Recently, the weather get hotter and stuffier than every. Arghhhh… I can’t stand it anymore. Just like today, when I’m helping my mother in the kitchen chopping garlic, my sweat drip onto the chopping board non stop. I manage to wipe sweat here but there my sweat is dropping. Haha… looks like mother need to put less salt in today’s dishes. My mother was quite worried seeing my condition. She kept asking whether I feel all right, is my body still healthy etc. I think I’m fine. I’m always what they say in Malay ‘puteri lilin’, scared of heat. It’s weird to see how long I stayed in the band. As you know, school band needs to march under The Eyes of Heaven and for a long time too; mostly more than 2 hours non stop. When it comes to the National Day parade, we’ll be under the sun for more than 4 hours plus about 8 km of walking while playing our instrument. So how did I make it? Honestly I don’t have a clue.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com I PASSED!!!! I PASSED!!!!

I passed my driving test today. It was a waste of time there though, because I waited for more than 5 hours. The actual time I’m in the car driving was only less than 1 hour. I met a few of my ex-schoolmate there. They are Lea Ci, Xue Ying, Chuan Koon and another guy from S4 that I don’t know his name.

I did the 2nd section first before going on-the-road. A lot of people fail going on the hill. I’m weak at that, so seeing so many people before me fail was quite frightening. While I’m chatting with a girl from the same driving school with me, suddenly “BANG”. Someone released the hand brake without stepping on the brake. The Kancil bang on to the other Kancil in front of it, but fortunately both cars were not dented.

When it’s my turn, I got a lousy car. The driver side door can’t be open. Someone before me was using that car need to get out from the other side of the car. As I know the door can’t be open, I straight away get in the car from the other side. The one in charge for calling number said to me: “Eh Ah Moi, kalau kamu duduk di sana, siapa yang memandu? ”, I immediately answer him: “Pintu tu tak boleh dibuka lah ~ ~”. He has nothing to say after that. Luckily my instructor helps me fix the door so that I can go in and out of the car easily. The car jerks all the time making me more nervous and its hand brake can’t brake properly. But in the end, everything turned out right.

Then after waiting for more than an hour, I was tested on-the-road. The tester I got was Malay with the name ‘Abdul Hamid’. He’s good. He talked to me all the way. Well, I think that makes me less nervous. And he even teaches me the right way to over take. I really want to thank him but I didn’t because I was so excited to get out of the car and report to my instructor that I pass the test.

Tester: Hari ni ambil ujian kereta dan motor sama-sama ke?
Torpor: Taklah. Hari ni saja kereta.
Tester: Jadi bila nak ambil?
Torpor: Mungkin selepas Chinese New Year.
Tester: * I was following another ‘L’ candidate quite closely * Pernah belajar memotong?
Torpor: Pernah.
Tester: Nak potong tak?
Torpor: Tak berani lah.
Tester: Pernah memotong?
Torpor: Pernah tapi sekali sahaja. Sebuah teksi.
Tester: Yang sedang bergerak ke dah berhenti?
Torpor: Bergerak tapi sedang diperlahankan.
Tester: Ok, nanti saya kata ‘Clear’ kamu potong.
Torpor: Ok.
Tester: * after I make the U-turn we must make as a part of the test * Ok, nanti… ‘Clear’…
Torpor: VROOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM…… * accelerate as much as I can *
Tester: * I’m in front of the car now * Lain kali kalau memotong, seluruh kereta mesti di lorong kanan. Tak boleh begitu dekat dengan kereta yang dipotong. Jangan himpit orang lain pula. Tadi sudah terlalu dekat.

I got 3 crosses and got 17 marks out of 20. I think the tester gave me more marks as I can drive while talking to him and I dare to over take others while being tested. Why I say so, because I saw someone with 2 crosses only but got a 16.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Driving lessons

Finished 9 hours of driving lessons already, 1 hour more to go. Going to sit for the test on the 26th of January but i think i will only get hold of my licence after Chinese New Year because i still have my motorcycle test to sit for.

My on-the-road skills are quite ok. That's of course my own opinion. On Sunday, knocked down a pillar during 3-point-turn. Bet no one ever knock down one there. :$ I don't seems to use the brake. If i need to slow down, i only don't accelerate...

Mother have been thinking of buying a second skuter for me to ride to school when Form 6 starts but father thinks that it's better if i drive his Proton Wira to school. But all will depend on how steady my driving is.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Mother or Grandmother

A few weeks before SPM at Wangsa Maju Carrefour’s England Optical:
Optician: *Scribble in Chinese* her myopia increased about 100, please change her lenses.
*Look up at me* do, you know Chinese?
Torpor: Of course, I’m currently studying in a Chinese school.
Optician: *Blush* Oh I see. So, ask you GRANDMOTHER to…
Torpor: Erm… if you are talking about the woman who take me here, she’s my MOTHER. *Trying hard not to burst into laughter*
Optician: *Blush some more* Oh, sorry…

This is the first time someone say my MOTHER is my GRANDMOTHER. LOL…

Today at home, received a call from a fellow 5S5:
Torpor: I saw a few of our classmate working at Carrefour.
5S5: Yes, I saw them too. I also saw you one day at Carrefour, shopping with your GRANDMOTHER.
Torpor: I think it’s my MOTHER you saw that time. LOL…

The second time. LOL… I think I can imagine my fellow 5S5’s blushing face. Looks like my mother really have to dye her hair. If not she will continue be misunderstood as my GRANDMOTHER.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Mother back to work

After retried at home for more than half a year, my mother got a job offer today. She starts work tomorrow. So, that means I’ll be the only one left at home. Back to the life I had a few years ago; going back to a house without a single living soul; three meals on my own.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Start of school term

Today, whole off Malaysia starts school. But this doesn’t apply on me because I’m still waiting for my SPM result. Watching a lot of parents waiting outside the school compound makes me remember the first day I start primary school. My parents just leave me at school after seeing me into my classroom. Whereas other parents continue watching their precious ‘babies’ out side the classroom. They gave me a feeling that we are monkeys in a cage. Until now I still ask my mother why they just left me there and the answer was always “There’s nothing to see. So, why stay?” Quite a good answer, don’t you think?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com ~ :: Congratulations and Celebrations :: ~

YEAH!!!! Finally, I can eat solid food again. After eating blended food for more than one week, I’m relieved that I finally can eat solid food again. I even felt envy every time I see my parents eating at the dinning table. I’m now back at the round dinning table eating ever meal with my parents. Ah, it feels good when I can munch and chew again.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com 6A’s gathering

Only 6 turned up including me (Soh Lin Sin, Chee Wei Mei, Yap Siu Yan, Seik Heng Yik and Yap Teng Fai). When to McDonalds to have lunch and walked over to our primary school. We wanted to go in to have a look at the new school building since we didn’t went there after we left primary school but the guard don’t let us in.
Then we take a bus to Wangsa Maju LRT Station to go on LRT to KLCC to have a movie. But we were too late, so we only get to buy tickets for 5:30. I phone my mother to ask for permission but she didn’t. So, I’m the only one that can’t watch the movie. Sob… Sob… To kill some time before the movie starts, we went to Kinokuniya. I bought 4 books, including the famous ‘The Old Man and The Sea’ by Ernest Hemingway for RM34.90. The other three are books written by net author JHT. All these cause me about RM100. My money bag is now crying. So, said goodbye at about 5:20 and get a hug from Lin Sin before we parted.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Recall 2004

Hmmm…… Let me think, what happened in my life in year 2004.

January
Start of school term; have the same classmate but felt more close to them compared to 2003. School band’s practice increased as a preparation for the KL competition.

February
Chinese New Year was celebrated on a smaller scale as the economy was not as good as 2003. Though, ‘ang pau’ received didn’t lessen.

March
School band’s practice was as usual, but because we have only a little time left and formations to be made perfect, we asked for permission from our teacher advisor to let us use our school hours for practice but she didn’t for the sake of our academic results. 03/04’s Ex-co should have retired but because the competition was still not over, we have to stay.

April
Finally the date for the competition was fixed, not being postponed anymore (the date was been postponed for at lease 3 times). And as expected, our school got 3rd. One of the judge later says that actually we can be 2nd if our marching were better. But there’s still something to cheer for. The judge says that our music was better than the school that got 2nd. YEAH!!! Watch out guys, we are sure to kick some butts in this year’s competition. And finally we old members can retire and be an ex-member.

May
I got some books as birthday present from my parents. As the midyear exam was on, and my three best friends can’t think of anything to give me, they decided to treat me for a movie at KLCC after them exam. Got a surprised present from HHChu, didn’t expect him to remember my birthday.

Jun
Started writing this blog after months of consideration. Besides the movie (Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban), my friends also gave me a book (Putin’s Don’t Call Me Jay Chou).

August
Have some hard time to convince my parents to let me go to Kuantan for year 2004’s National Day parade with the school band as SPM is coming closer. We need to be there for 9 days for practice. Of course it will affect our studies. So after convincing and swearing to them that I will study there, they finally give in. We almost practice there day and night. Only have the chance to bath at 11 p.m., then off we go to bed so that we can wake up at 4:30 in the morning. The food there was not suitable for Chinese as it’s too spicy. Not to mention the unhygienic situation there. Hundreds of flies flying and dropping onto our food when we are eating. Cat will be on the eating table when start to eat as if it want to eat from our plate. We spend the night of the day of Hungry Ghost talking ghost stories from everywhere in our hostel.

September
SPM trial for the whole month. I’ve been up at 1 a.m. to finish my unfinished studies. Still don’t have the mood of SPM although I know this public exam will determine my future. Didn’t study as well as I should, so the results were quite predictable?

October
Results for trial were out. As I predicted, I didn’t do well. Only managed to get 5 As’ out of 11 subjects. Have a few subjects between the borders of fail and pass. Looks like I really have to buck up if I want to get good results in SPM.

November
SPM started and lasted the whole month. Didn’t have any pressure when I’m sitting for the first few subjects. Still have no mood of SPM. Hahaha…… But when it comes to Additional Math, I start to fear. Fear because I’m always not good in this subject. Then there comes the other science subjects, History, and Moral Studies. I’m dead…

December
A month to celebrate as the exam was finally over. Went to the cinema for 3 times, it’s a record. My cousin from Ipoh came to my house for a few days. Got my teeth braced. Passed the Undang test and I’m waiting for my ‘L’ licences for car and motorcycle now. Of course not to be forgotten, the deadly tsunami that kill more than 120,000 lives.
